These may be signs of depletedadrenal glands - a syndrome known as AdrenalFatigue. Thankfully, a few commonly-availableessential oils can offer support in regeneratingover-tired adrenal glands. What is the syndrome of Adrenal Fatigue? The adrenal glands are your body’s mostimportant part of the endocrine system fordealing with stress. These tiny glands, eachabout the size of a walnut and the weight of agrape, sit atop each kidney. These essential oils are bestdiluted in a carrier oil and applied to the skin,and are not to be taken orally. Spruce Essential Oil: Spruce (and alsoCanadian Black Spruce) is thought by respectedaromatherapists to support depleted adrenalglands, and is added to blends which can beapplied to the skin over the adrenal area, or inlower dilutions in a body lotion. Pine Essential Oil: Pine oil has been called one of the most effective oils for fatigue. Thisoil can be blended with Black Spruce for asynergistic effect on adrenal function. Cedar Oil: Atlantic Moroccan Cedar can gentlystimulate the body’s metabolism without letdown.Unlike the regenerating effect of the Spruce andPine needle essential oils, Cedar oil can providea long lasting stimulation without the sideeffects of harsh stimulants. Peppermint Essential Oil: Peppermint oil isassociated with many healthful effect; it’s aromais clarifying and uplifting. As with CedarAtlas, it is added to adrenal formulas for mildstimulation and metal clarity. Citrus Oils such as Orange, Bitter Orange, Lemonand Lime - These oils cold-pressed from the peelsof these fruits are considered to uplift and bringabout a light attitude. These oils also have arelaxing effect - this combination can lowerstress levels - the primary culprit of adrenalfatigue. Essential Oil Recipes for Adrenal Gland Support This essential oil blend is to give regenerativesupport without any actual stimulation. The oilsin this recipe are fine for continued use, andmay have an effect in a relatively short periodof time. For a 30 milliliter blend, use 1 and 1/2black spruce and an equal amount of pine oil in27 milliliters of hazelnut oil. You may of coursedouble all the amounts for more. To use, applytopically to the kidney area one to three timesdaily. These same essential oils may be used in agently stimulating body oil blend: Threemilliliters of both spruce and pine essentialoils plus two milliliters of Atlantic cedarwoodessential oil and another two milliliters of acitrus oil of your choice. Add this to fourounces of hazelnut or other carrier oil of yourliking. Use this all over after a shower. Cautionshould be used, however, as the citrus oils canbe photosensitizing; do not apply to areas thatwill be exposed to direct sunlight in thefollowing two days. Peppermint may be used instead of, or even inaddition to, the citrus essential oils. You mayenjoy this blend: six milliliters of spruce oil,two and one half milliliters of cedarwood oil plusone and one half milliliter of peppermint in fourounces of hazelnut oil or your favorite carrier.This combination, if used without the citrusoils, will not be photosensitizing and can beused all over the body. Aromatherapy Can Help! These aromatherapy blends have fantastic aromas,and can provide support with mild and moderateadrenal fatigue. The underlying causes of thiscondition must be addressed at the same time forlong-lasting results. This usually meansreducing caffeine intake, dietary modifications,and creating balance through exercise, friendsand family, and taking time for one’s self.
